2021 Stand Up to Cancer Charity Match & Auction
Cancer affects too many kiwis, and the Hautapu Sports community has not been spared. In 2021, we are bringing back the Hautapu Charity match to raise funds to support our club community, and the wider Waikato in the fight against serious illness. All the proceeds will be split between Waikato Cancer Society, and the new Hautapu Whaanau Support Fund that can directly support those in our Hautapu family who are affected by, or living with this terrible disease and other serious illness's.
The club is proud to have the Cancer Society logo on our 2021 playing shorts.
While opportunities to support will be available from the start of Junior Rugby on the 29th May the actual main match against Morrinsville starts at 2.45. There will be a specially designed game jersey, which will be part of an auction of generously donated items from the Hautapu community to raise vital funds.
The organising committee welcomes the donation of any items, products or services that we can include in this auction, please contact Mike Johnston, 021 719022, if you are able to assist in any way. In addition to the auction we will be have other fundraising initiatives active on the day.
We stand together. We stand with you. We stand up to cancer.
The Hautapu Whanaau Support Fund
Being established in 2021, this is a special pool of money set aside to provide financial support to members of our Hautapu Sports Community if they or a loved one are affected by a serious health issue. If we can ease the financial burden for the next family who has to fight, then it will all be worth it.
We have secured the services of two of Hautapu's best to take on the role of "stewards" to the fund, Paul Galletta and Amy Purchase.
These two will help the Operations Manager set guidelines and protocols around the fund and will be the point of contact for those who need assistance.
We stand together. We stand with you.
